This Privacy Policy explains how Headout Pack ("App") handles information when you use the App. Headout ("we", "us", or "our") built Headout Pack as a local-first tool for pre-departure preparation.
1. Overview
Headout Pack is designed to work on your device without an account or cloud sync. We do not operate a user registration system for the App, and we do not send remote push notifications.
In short:
- Your data stays on your device
- No account or cloud sync is required
- Optional leave reminders use local notifications only
- You can delete history and local data in the App settings
2. Information We Process
The App stores the following information locally on your device to provide its features:
- Outing plans and ready boards, including carry, pre-leave, and arrival items
- Blockers and alternative choices you record while preparing to leave
- Templates and rules you view or edit
- Trip history and summaries, including skipped items and carry-over hints
- App preferences, such as language, theme, and reminder settings
- Optional evidence photos you attach to checklist items, stored in the App's local storage
- Optional exported text when you choose to share a summary through the system share sheet
We process this information only to run the App on your device. We do not upload it to our servers as part of the App's normal operation.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
For the App as described in this policy, we do not:
- Require you to create an account
- Collect your name, email address, or phone number inside the App
- Sync your plans to our cloud services
- Use remote push notifications
- Sell your personal information
- Use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the App for tracking across apps or websites
If you contact us by email, we will receive the information you choose to send us in that message.
4. Device Permissions
The App may request the following optional permissions:
Notifications
Used only if you turn on leave reminders. The App schedules local notifications on your device at the times you choose. Denying notification permission does not block the core offline checklist flow.
Camera
Used only if you choose to take an evidence photo for a checklist item. Photos are saved locally in the App's storage.
Photo Library (Read)
Used only if you choose to add an evidence photo from your photo library.
Photo Library (Add)
Used only if you choose to save a ready board overview image to your Photos library.
You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.
5. Sharing and Export
The App lets you export or share text summaries when you choose to do so. Any sharing happens through your device's system share sheet. We do not control what you send or to whom you send it.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. You can:
- Delete trip history and local data using the App's data management settings
- Remove optional evidence photos when you delete related checklist items or clear local data
- Uninstall the App to remove locally stored App data from your device
Because the App does not use cloud sync, deleting data on one device does not affect data on another device.
7. Children's Privacy
Headout Pack is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App. The App does not require registration. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us by email, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete that correspondence if needed.
8. Security
We rely on your device's operating system to protect locally stored App data. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but because the App keeps data on your device rather than on our servers, your information is not transmitted to us during normal App use.
9. International Users
The App is designed for local on-device use. If you contact us by email, your message may be processed according to the email service you use.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we may also provide notice in the App where appropriate. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
